And I have a little playgym, which I'll sit on, but I'd rather be with mom, so when she puts me there I bob my head at her and beg her to come play with the poor parrot.
I started talking when I was 9 months old. I say "Hi Jester", "Hi Jester Pester", "cute parrot", "pretty parrot", "Jester pester pest", "Hi there!", "Whatchdoin?", "Pet the Parrot!", "Kiss the Parrot!", "Scary!", "'SOkay" and the dog's name, "Tristan!". I also mix up the words to make my own sentences, like "cute Jester parrot!"
I impressed mom a lot once. Tristan, the dog, likes to sneak into her bedroom (where I live) and eat kleenex out of her wastebasket. Twice in the same day she heard me yelling "Tristan! Tristan! Tristan! Tristan!" over and over, and when she came to check on me the dog was there getting into the trash. Now she tells people I'm a tattletale.
Mom was less pleased when she realized that a new screech I'd added to my repetoire was actually an imitation of the sound she makes when she blows her nose. Now whenever she does it, I repeat the sound loudly. It's a lot of fun. I'm learning her cough and sneeze too.
My mom got a water bottle for me, so I wouldn't keep yucking up my water by dunking pellets in it. Fortunately I'm a smart bird, so now I take each pellet and push it against the ball in the spout of the bottle to get it wet before I eat it.
