This page is dedicated to those dogs who have gone to the rainbow bridge. They factored in the creation and development of my kennel and are in the bloodlines of many other Canadian and International breeders. No matter how long our dogs may live, it is never long enough. This page is created in their memory, as I have never forgotten a single thing about a single one of these special dogs.     We will start with a tribute to the dogs of the past followed by the females fo the past

CAN AM CH DEFENDER'S XERXES CD "RYKER" (1979~1989)  CAN AM CH Starstorm Thunderbolt x CAN CH Starstorn Sunni The Defendress Ryker was the first doberman that ever owned me. I purchased him from Lynn Korella in 1979, and he is the reason for the existence of Karlee Dobermans today. When I first brought Ryker home, I thought he was an amazing dog, and when I look back and think about him, I still find him amazing. In conformation he was superb - much before his time; if he was alive today, he would be equally as competitive in the ring as he was during his career. He completed his CAN CH in very short order, and he completed his AM CH by going BOW at the 1981 DPCA National Specialty under the late Mrs. Betty Moore. That is an event I will never forget. In temperament, Ryker was unsurpassed. He earned his CD title in three straight trials with scores over 197 each time. He would do whatever was asked of him, and his mission in life seemed to be to make me happy. Today, I miss him dearly. He died of torsion in 1989, just two months before his 10th birthday. He was healthy in every other aspect of his life, and his passing is something I will never forget. He factors in every pedigree that I breed, and as such, he is behind every dog in the Karlee bloodlines.

CAN CH KARLEE'S ITS MILLER TYME "MILLER" (1987-1992) CAN AM CH Defender's Xerxes CD X CAN CH Karlee's Code of Silence Miller was a wonderful dog in my home. He was a good stud dog for my kennel, producing lovely toplines and great heavy bone. Some of him is seen in his grandchildren today. I made the decision to put him to sleep after an incident in my house, but at the time of his death he was a very healthy dog.

CH DRACO'S BREAK IT TO THEM GENTLY "MAGGIE" (1982-1991) Am Can BIS BISS Ch Defender's Xerxes X Wurdobes Tiffany "Maggie" was the foundation bitch for Karlee Dobermans. She was a daughter of my first dog, Ryker, and she had a solid pedigree behind her. Maggie was the first dog that I showed myself in the conformation ring. I finished her at just over one year of age, and that is where her show career finished. She was a great producer for Karlee, giving us some of the great dogs that I continued to build my kennel with.

CH KARLEE'S TYME WAITS FOR NO MAN "MISERI" (1987-1995) Am Can BIS BISS Ch Defender's Xerxes X Can Ch Karlee's Code of Silence "Miseri" was a wonderful bitch to have in the home with us. She had a temperament made of gold, and would have made any breeder or owner proud with her outgoing attitude. I made the painful decision to put her to sleep when she failed to recover from a spay surgery. I was out of town when Miseri came down with pyometria. My housesitter took her to see his vet and the vet recommended an immediate spay. It was done, but 6 months later, Miseri came into season again. I took her back to that same vet and he revealed to me that he had missed a part of her uterus during the operation. He offered to redo the surgery. When I picked my girl up later that day, she had a glazed look about her. I thought it was just the effects of the anesthetic not having worn off totally. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Miseri never recovered from that operation. She had lost a good portion of the movement in her rear, and she never regained the spunk that I so admired in her prior to this ordeal. I made the decision to put her down and end her suffering, but it was one of the toughest decisions I have had to make since my beginning in Dobermans.

CH KARLEE'S CHINA SYNDROME "CHINA" (1991~1997) CAN AM PR SA INT CH Angel's Dark Thunder X CAN CH Karlee's Tyme Waits For No Man (pictured at 10 months, by B.G. Photography) "China" was owned by Karen Hartley (co-founder of Karlee Dobermans and now of Itzz Dobermanns in Australia). She is the dam of Can Aus Ch Itz Goes Around Comes Around. China boasted a wonderfully pleasant disposition and great conformation. She died unexpectedly of a cancerous tumor in her heart. It was a tremendous loss.
