Chinoise Cavies

Self Lilacs may not be the most glamorous of the selfs but once you come to appreciate the subtlety of this colour you will find that they are quite lovely. The main faults of the Lilac are uneven top colour, rims to ears and a tendency towards a smut on their noses. However these can be bred out with patience and forethought. To develop type in this breed, I recently used a Self Black (one of Elysee Stud 's Champion boars) to inject a better head and shoulder. The first generation are of course blacks but I am hoping for some good results down the track. Some of the Lilacs at Chinoise
