Silly Sidney made us laugh. Resident Squeaky Toy Fanatic, Sid spent hours playing with his rubber football, especially when I was trying to talk on the phone!. Sid played a bit in the Specials ring, winning a number of BoBs over large entries, as well as several Group placings. Sid's handsome outline and heads-up attitude always caught the judge's eye. He was ranked in the Top 20 Dals for 1998.We liked Sid so well we repeated the breeding of Salem to Nick, which resulted in three more winners, Ch. "Dobie", Ch. Carmen UDX, and Ch. Gracie NA/NAJ/RD who won the DCA Road Trial in 2000 and has been a top producer with many champion kids and grandkids.
Sidney reminded us a great deal of Jocko Am/Can Ch. Paisley Peterbilt Am/Can CDX, and we had hoped that he would do as well in the obedience ring. A broken foot in the summer of '99 put an end to our obedience plans. Sid became Resident Pet & Housekeeping Supervisor, a position he filled perfectly, and he later moved up to Boss Dog! He was a take-charge sort of guy who kept the younger dogs in line, and his perfect manners made him an excellent housedog, cardog and great PR Dal. Sid was a wonderful companion and a great favorite in Paisleyland, and is sadly missed.
