I'm glad your rats were given the chance to live with someone so kind. My first rat freiya was rescued by myself when her owner wanted to feed her to his pet snake because she sneezed all the time. This was sorted out by the vet in no time and she lived w th me for almost three years, unfortunatly she developed cancer and died at the end of the summer 1999.

I really enjoyed your site. I have also had rats for pets and have found them to have very sweet personalities. Although Nizumi, Hercules, Sneezer did not have as wonderful a home as the Palace to live in they always seemed to be happy. "Zoomie" would ush up to the side of the cage as soon as my husband came home, so that he could reach through the wire to shake Michael's hand. The first medical emergency we had with Zoomie was about a month after I picked him out of the pet store...I was so scared I ctually called my husband at work in the city, forty miles away, to come home as soon as possible because I was taking Zoomie to the vet...It turned out that the horrible growths that Zoomie had were...testicles. What can I say....he was my first rat. Although I'm sorry to hear of the cruelty that your rats had to endure, I'm glad that they had a loving human to rescue them and give them the love that all creatures deserve.
