KEESHONDEN "The Smiling Dutchmen" |
The Keeshond (pronounced kaze-hond) is a handsome dog, of well-balanced, short coupled body...has alert carriage, intelligent expression, richly plumed tail curled over his back and a lionlike mane. The ideal height is 18 inches for males, 17 inches for bitches. Typically, Keeshonden are outgoing, friendly, sensible and affectionate. One distinctive characteristic of this dog is the spectacles that appear around the eyes. This breed originated in Holland and sometimes displays a friendly grin, hence the term, smiling dutchman.* |
