une 9, 2005
It's been so long since I posted news. I skipped all of
2004. I won't even bother going back and recapping most of
it. I will say, I learned how to knit and have begun designing
my own patterns. I pawned some jewelry last October, and bought
Cory a shiney new Ibanez guitar for our 2nd anniversary. He
loves it, and his progress is impressive. I had my appendix out
via emergency surgery last August and it sucked. I've hooked
back up with Holly, and her husband Nick and I are in a band,
along with Mindy and some less permanent members. We're called
No Resolve and we host open mics at JR's Downunder on
Wednesdays. Um, lets see. Anything else worth noting? I think
that's it. On to more recent news:
Cory's mother and step-father came for a visit a couple weeks
ago. They brought with them some chain-link fence, a sand box, a
Little Tikes cabin, a new grill and all sorts of other fun
things. So, Kit now has a fenced back yard and LOTS of new
things to keep her busy, and we've been eating off the grill
regularly.
We're gearing up for July, Kit's first 4th that might actually
be interactive, and Cory's birthday. He's already gotten himself
a nice gaming table with his birthday moolah from his mother.
Which brings us to the VERY exciting news that Cory's sister
Micki has moved back from Ohio! It's so much fun to have her
back. And it means a babysitter for Kit that doesn't live 20
minutes out of town.
Kit is growing like a weed, as they say. She's tall and
skinny, but strong as an ox. She's talking up a storm now, and
her articulation is impressive for a two year old, though her
pronunciation is still babyish. It just makes her sound really
cute and sweet when she says things like "No, not you, go away."
Cory is busy teaching her how to be a rock star. You should see
her windmill! She even got her own guitar for Christmas.
We have finally gotten almost finished with our first-phase
remodel. The new bathroom is fully functional and has walls. It
doesn't have a permanent floor yet, and the walls aren't painted,
but it's a lot better than it was. We started putting drywall up
in Kit's little room last weekend. (Thanks to those who
helped!) It's slow going. The room is not square. Not a bit.
But it will be so nice when it's finished.
