Course 101 - Fab Faux

Tuition: $925
Feb. 5-9; June 11-15; Sept 24-28

An introductory course for those who have had little or no previous formal exposure to faux finishing. The course is organized around the production faux standards of: Dabbing, Ragging, Washes, Dragging, Stippling, Cloudy Patina, Metallics, Marbles, Leather, Aged Patinas, Stones, Veining, Color Meshing, Stenciling, Drapery, and much more… You will leave with over 21 superior sample boards for your portfolio. Business Topics and Pricing will be discussed throughout each session. The course will provide a strong foundation for further studies in decorative painting.

Course 201 - Finishes That Sell

A class designed to catapult your career into high gear. The course is organized around several successful, high-production faux techniques: Cloudy Skies, Parchment, Metallic Patinas, Marbles, Ragging, Washes, Leather, Aged Patinas, Fresco, Stones, Strie, Stenciling, and much more… You will leave with over 24 spectacular new techniques for your portfolio. Course 301 - European & Period Finishes

Our most popular class focuses on specific aspects or periods of decorative painting history. This class will deal primarily with historically accurate European techniques adapted to today’s technology and products. As part of the course, students will make their own Pompeian Fresco and authentic Venetian Plaster sample. Finishes: Frottage, Limewash, Colorwash, Cracqulure, Advanced Marbles & Veining, Metallic Patina, Stucco Antico, Parigi, Muschio, Limestone, Cobblestone, Tuscany, and Provencal. Learn Multi-overlay Period Architectural, Trompe L’oeil, Embossed Stenciling and much more… You will leave with over 25 superior sample boards. Course 310 - Stones, Blocks & Rocks

A workshop of advanced trompe l’oeil techniques to help you render magnificent stones and rocks. The course is organized around the trompe l’oeil techniques of: Cobblestone, Limestone, Stone Blocking, Stone Openings, and much more… The course will provide a strong foundation for further trompe l’oeil studies. Combine with Euro Plaster.

An intensive study of trompe l’oeil marbling techniques. The course concentrates on several European marbling and veining techniques which will enable the student to produce Sienna, Carrara, Norwegian Rose, Bianco, and many more marbles… You will leave with several superior sample boards for your portfolio. The course will add decorative painting skills that sell to today’s savvy clientele.
