Rexboro District, Post Office (NW 20-53-4-W5) Postmaster Robert McClelland.- pre WWI homesteading area

St. Aidan and St. Hilda Anglican Church-Rexboro (1909) (SW corner of SW 20-53-4-W5). Land donated by Harry T. Smith. A log building which was later sided, is now a Provincial Historic Site just north of Highway 16 West.

Rexboro School #1851, 1910-1916-(SE25-53-5-W5). 1916-1948-(SE20-53-4-W5). Purchased and moved to the Lac. Ste. Anne Trail where it is used as a residence. First teacher A.A. Hassan.

Lakeside Coal Mine - (NE9-53-4-W5) Employed many men over its years of operation (1913-63).

Smithfield District-Approximately Township 53 Range 3

Smithfield School #1307, (1905) Originally built By Alfred Root on the NE corner of NE 8-53-3-W5 on the land of Arthur Charles (Butcher) Smith and named Wabamun School. Moved a mile and a half east in 1914 to Arthur Hopkin's homestead, NW corner of NE10-53-3-W5, and renamed the Smithfield School. David Harmon Lent was the first teacher, Ada Alberta Lent, his daughter, taught there 1920-1922

Hopkins Methodist Church, Smithfield (1908)-(SE15-53-3-W5). Land donated by Reverend Charlie Hopkins. Built by Alfred Root. Sold in 1962 and became Smithfield Community Centre, moved in 1975 to RR34, north of Highway 16.(SW16-53-3-W5).

Smithfield Cemetery-(1908) SW4-53-3-W5. Land donated by David Harmon Lent. First burial, John Francey, D.H.Lent's father in law.

Darwell District-Approximately Township 54-R4. A stop on the Canadian Northern Railway. Hamlet of Darwell, NW18-54-4-W5.

Darwell Cemetery (1941) - (SW18-54-4-W5) Donald and Jennie Campbell are buried here.

Sylvan District-Approximately Township 53-R4

Sylvan School 1907-1911(?)(NW14-53-4-W5)1914 (SW24-53-4-W5) 1921-1930, 1936-1939 (SE corner of SW36-53-4-W5) .

Village of Wabamun -Originally at the "top of the bay" (NW 7-53-3-W5), as my grand mother used to say, in what is now Wabamun Lake Provincial Park. The entire village was put on runners and moved across the ice in 1911 to SE11-53-4-W5, on the Grand Trunk Pacific Railroad.
