The
Band
Dartford and District is a competition standard
Pipe Band, rehearsing every Monday
and
Thursday under the direction of
Pipe Major Dick Camp.
Come along and join us on a Monday or Thursday practice.
The venue is the Conservative Club, Spittal Street, Dartford.
Monday night is full band night with round the table chanter practice followed by
pipes and drums on the floor.
Thursday night is mostly a get round the tables chanter practice night where Rob Hill
has been stalwartly assisting Pipe Major Camp by teaching less experienced pipers.
The
band wears the Royal Stuart tartan and sports
the Forbes Clan Crest on Pipe Bags and Glengarries.
The tartan was chosen simply due to availability
at the time the band was formed.
The Forbes
Crest was adopted as a mark of respect, to the late Pipe Major John
Forbes.
