The Spark Plug Ignition System

i also have a Help File for the original (and more common) style of spark-system.

This is a new way which I have just been introduced to. I knew about it but only employed it after my epoxied BBQ sparker developed problems and I was forced to operated. In the end, that sparker was riped out, and I attempted the Spark plug system. Before starting, I would gap the Spark Plug as much as possible.

Basically all it is, is the spark impulse generated by the BBQ igniter being carried along some wires to the spark plug, which Then makes the spark jump. Unfortunaly for this to work, it is easiest to have a complete BBQ sparker package. As always, I will explain in words and picture(s) as to how to set up this system...watch me go!

Ok. What you do is first put the plug and the wire into the Bottom of the BBQ Igniter. Use most of that wire (cut if necessary) and strip about the last 2 - 3 inches of insulation off. Find some other wire and strip about the last 3 - 4 inches of insulation off one end. You then wrap that bare section around the Base of the Spark Plug (above the washer is a perfect location.) At the other end of that same piece, strip off around 2 - 3 inches of insulation; this is where you will connect the base wire from the BBQ Igniter.

Part 1

Then gather more of that extra wire. Make sure you have minimum of a foot this time. Strip 4 - 5 inches off of one end, then find the little metal bar in about the middle of the BBQ Igniter. Attach this bare wire to that bar (this is the second part of the connection.) At the other end now, take off 2 - 3 inches of insulation. Wrap this bare wire around the very top part of the Spark Plug.

Part 2

If all's gone well, when you click the BBQ Igniter, a spark will occure in the Spark Plug. If nothing happens, review all the instructions above, and look at the picture. If still nothing seems to work Email Me and I'll do the best that I can that way. The spark plug system is far surperior to other means, and makes yer cannon look cool 'cause its got wires 'n shit sticking out of it. Enjoy!!
