Map of Melbourne and its surroundings

I was born in Geelong (1hr from Melbourne) and then moved to Melbourne (state's capital) in 1980. I'm an only child, but had a cat (Checkers), fish and a Dalmatian dog (Marty) for company.

Playgroup, kindergarten (tried 3 out) and Primary School at Stella Maris came by and went. During that time I tested out drama and tap dancing, and took up swimming, ballet, piano lessons and Croatian Saturday School.

From Grade 5, 1989 I began at an all girls' private Catholic school near the city called (Loreto Mandeville Hall), where I stayed until early Year 12. While there I was involved in the: junior & senior choir, vocal ensemble, athletics squad; both inter-house and inter-school (high jump, long jump, 100m sprints, relays, javelin), outdoor education, volunteer work and community aid, music productions and performances. Outside of school I took up Girl Guides, tennis, folklore dancing and modelling courses, as well as continuing with my Croatian studies.

In 1994 I went overseas with my Mum to Singapore and southern Europe (visiting many relatives for the first time). After deferring Year 12 in 1996 (due to illness), I resumed in 1997 at a nearby school (Mentone Girls' Secondary College). I played a few matches for the schools' senior tennis team and met some great friends. My parents rewarded me with a trip to the U.S.A upon graduating from High School, where I was independent and met many friends along the way.

I deferred my university studies in 1998 and chose to work part-time, so as to save $ for further travels and to relax. Although it seemed that most of my $ had been spent on ski trips, holidays and night time escapades *grins*

1999 brought me... the start of my university course towards a Bachelor of Social Science (specialising in Family Studies) degree at A.C.U. (Australian Catholic University) - Christ campus), a holiday in Hawaii during March, an end of year break to Queensland in November, my cousin's wedding (I was a bridesmaid), an end of year trip back to the USA (to Oregon & Washington), and my 21st in May.

2000 brought me... the start of a new direction in my course (specialising in Youth Studies now) at a new campus - St Patrick's, Patrick's arrival to Melbourne whilst on a study exchange, and visiting the USA (Oregon, Nevada and northern California) in September while the Olympic Games were on back home.

2001 brought me... 3rd year of studies, a pierced navel with a belly ring, field placement in youth studies at Southern Family Life, and Andrew.

2002 brought me... my final year of studies, vacation in Queensland with Andrew, field placement with Bayside City Council - which led to ongoing committee work (Freeza and Youth Advisory Group), and being nominated by my Council to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) seminar.

2003 brought me... entering the workforce as a youth worker for local governments' youth services, Conor's visit, university graduation in May, quarter of a century birthday in May, being a team leader for the RYLA seminar (Go Lime!), and my Ford Probe car (which led to many problems).

The Ford Probe... up for sale!

2004 brought me... my 1st friend's wedding in January (I was her Maid of Honour), USA travel in March with Andrew (to southern California, Las Vegas and Tijuana), being given Mum's Honda Accord, continuing my work in local government youth services, Mirna's visit to Australia, having Andrew live at mine for a few months, living between Andrew's place and my parents', helping out at the RYLA seminar, and exploring my passions of music and dance through a DJ Course and hip hop workshop (ended up purchasing my own DJ equipment to mix and scratch with for my own pleasure and perhaps down the track for others to enjoy - 2 x TT-200 turntables, 1002MKII mixer and a nice vinyl collection to start with).

2005 brought me... having my work contract not renewed after 2 years of work at a particular Council (grrr, unprofessional behaviour by them, and then later in the year the Council was sacked, hehe), helping out with my Dad's business, having 4 of my wisdom teeth removed in hospital, relationship "ups and downs", European travel in September-October with Haley, new car stereo system (amp, sub, CD tuner, speakers), and using the time to do some soul searching and learning to put myself first!

2006 brought me... working alongside my Dad (doing bookkeeping, web design, admin), Marty being put to rest in March :( , living mid-week in Geelong due to work, Andrew living at mine for what seemed like the majority of the year (not getting along with his roomie), relationship "ups and downs", and starting a natural health program (naturopathic, homeopathic, nutrition, allergy-sensitivity testing etc.).

2007 brings me... Corey, working and living mid-week in Geelong, Tasmanian holiday with Corey, attending many sporting events (eg. NBL, AFL, NSL), the passing of my Baka (Grandma) in May :( , becoming Melbourne Victory soccer members, holidaying for 2 weeks in tropical north Queensland with my parents, my new Beagle pup...

I love dolphins, as they are amazing communicators, have miraculous healing powers, love the water, playful, kind, and apparently deter sharks.

Oh, and I began the 'sky' (pronounced ski) naming in 1991, so since then I have been called KATSKY!
