How do shiatsu and
acupuncture cure illnesses?
Stimulation of specific therapeutic points of the body activates the inherent potential
found at these points, improving the bodys overall immune system, bringing the body
back into healthier shape. In other words, shiatsu and acupuncture do not directly cure
the illness. Through treatments, the body strengthens and it is this improved physical
strength that drives off illness. Shiatsu and acupuncture are often said to be able to
cure a wide variety of illnesses, but in actuality, it is the patients own physical
strength that is doing the real work.

How long does it
take for treatments to take effect?
Changes in the patients conditions can be expected, at the earliest, the day
after a treatment is given. However, on average, patients should expect to experience
changes after about the third treatment.? After 3 treatments, most patients notice that
their symptoms have become milder, or that they "feel healthier." With continued
treatments, symptoms can become unnoticeable, and the patient should be able to sense that
the illness is being cured. Progress may take a while, but once conditions improve, it is
unlikely that they will worsen or that the same symptoms will reappear.

What illness can be cured?
Eastern medicine is classified under the field of ______ medical treatment. Hence, shiatsu
and acupuncture are basically effective in treating all illnesses in their earliest
stages. At present, most patients seeking attention suffer from muscular pain, such
as stiffness of shoulders or back, but treatments have also been seen to be effective on
persons with internal organ disorders or mental illnesses.

How often and how
many treatments are recommended?
Although results depend on the patients condition and symptoms, at Lotus Clinic,
most patients average 3 to 5 treatments. A large number of symptoms have been seen to
improve within this measure. However, each patient is unique and differences in rate and
level of improvement must be expected. Effects of treatments can range from "Wow!
Im completely cured!" to "The symptoms are still there, but Im much
better than when I started." For the first 3 to 5 treatments, a pace of one treatment
every week is recommended.? After about the fifth visit, once or twice a month should be
fine.
