Check The Surf
with
Bill and Ben

Everyone remembers times when they've gone to check the surf and found it perfect. Here's some Ben Apps and I have found.

There is no way I could possibly give away the location of this secret wedge. Look at the unsuspecting booger in shots one and two - right in the takeoff zone of this freakish spot. He's obscured by the explosion in shot 3, but look at the section wedge and fold in shots 4 and 5. Shot six gives me shivers. Yes, it's every bit as heavy as it looks.

This was shot at Mooloolaba. Ben had the camera on when I drove into the angled parking (that's the windscreen wiper at the bottom) and this was rolling in. Mr Blonde's Alice was on the radio at the time and if we hadn't seen this wave I wouldn't have bought their EP.

On an overcast day Ben and I went to check Mt Coolum. Ben hadn't been out, but I'd already had my share of waves at Coolum Beach. I didn't feel like going out, but this was the first wave we saw...

But I've already been out today.I haven't had breakfast yet.But my wetsuit is wet.I want to watch Recovery.Oh, all right then. The swivel in question.
...and this was the second wave. We had our backs turned by the third. Needless to say we didn't get any footage of us surfing that day. But it was heavy. The brass swivel on my Gyroll was under so much force it almost pulled through.
