October 10: Second stop on our final day. We had heard that this place was among the best, and we weren't disappointed. The place (mostly metal) was huge. The entire park seemed like an entire downhill run in itself. It began with a giant launch box with a double rail on the lefthand side. This led into 1' high mellow jump into a funbox w/ a middle rail into a 3' spine that led into a 3' high x 16' wide mini ramp with shaky coping on one side. Also were some homemade ramps (whoop-de-doos and a 2' spine), a bank up to a grind ledge, and a 2' concrete bowl with pinner coping. The bowl, although ungrindable, was fun because you could launch out of it to stall on a fence, plus there was a hihp leading into it. It was highlighted by a 12' VERT RAMP (scary as hell). Besides, THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE THERE (except for a couple of 12 year olds and a few 14 year old girls). I hear that it is usually packed, we must have lucked out. I only really saw four problems:
- Unstable coping on the mini
- Too wide of flat on the 6' half pipe (lose speed)
- "Bubbly" flat on the 12' vert pipe
- Pinner copiing on the bowl
Visit this place! It rocks! And only fifteen minutes east is The Dalles.
