Wlonk

Description

"Wlonk" is pronounced "wuh-lonk" and is an Old English word meaning glorious.

Wlonk is the most complicated rule in Crampon. You say "wlonk X" where X is any other rule except "wlonk" or "crampon". For example: "wlonk spam". Wlonk reverses the direction of left and right, so that e.g. budamin sends play to the right and profigliano to the left. Directions stay reversed until the next time wlonk is played. There must be at least one non-wlonk move between one wlonk and the next, i.e. "wlonk X, spam, wlonk Y" is OK but "wlonk X, wlonk Y" is not.

The no triples rule works in the sense of the underlying direction. This means that, e.g. "budamin, budamin, wlonk profigliano" is not allowed.

The no opposites rule also works in the sense of the underlying direction. This means that, e.g. "budamin, wlonk budamin" is not allowed.

It is good manners to say whether directions are normal or reversed before starting or resuming play. "Wlonk schwarz" and "wlonk zoom" are particularly mean things to play, but legal!

Example

Person A is sitting to the left of person B, and directions are normal. Person A says "wlonk budamin" and sends play to person B.
