Winning poster!

In 1985 Radio Hauraki, Auckland, New Zealand, ran a poster competition to celebrate the upcoming concert by the Thompson Twins. This was a popular group of three people (none of them twins), including ex-pat New Zealander Alannah Currie.

The concert was rained out several times, but eventually did go ahead in Auckland. Much to my surprise, I won the poster competition. The price included two tickets to the concert (I'd already bought two), three signed records (yes, those old-fashioned flat black disks), two T-shirts and a denim jacket. Not a bad score.

I took some friends and my youngest brother to the concert, because my brother actually came up with the winning idea.
