Comparisons with rainfall recorded by other amateurs in the vicinity shows large variations even short distances away. Below is a comparison between Edenglen and Kensington, about 16 Km apart, which shows Edenglen to be significantly drier, while between Edenglen and Modderfontein about 6 Km away no difference is evident. Possibly the best explanation of these differences is the effect of the city interms of heat generation, pollution and prevailing winds. This will be an interesting field to investigate further.
