Canela was very dominant when she was with other dogs. We were able to notice that when
the vet was training her; she never let the other dogs treat her bad. It was
the same with street dogs. Once my brother and I were talking a walk with Canela,
trying to teach her to follow the "heel" command, and some street dogs started barking at her.
My brother got angry about that and let some of Canela's leash loose, giving her tiem to jump at the dogs,
barking noisily, before any of them hurt her. The dogs ran away, and only barked
at her from a distance.
So, we were kind of wondering what would happen with Canela when my uncles said
they were bringing a little puppy for a few weeks. (We live in the same garden,
different houses.) The puppy was a black Great Dane of only a month and a half old.
Ah, he was sooooo cute! And it seems Canela thought the same, she never barked
at the puppy, she never bit him or snarled at him, while the puppy (whose name's
Bart, by the way) always got angry at her and snarled and but her ears madly. She
seemed to be so patient with the puppy! The problem was that Canela was bigger in size then the puppy,
and she played a little rude for him. He would get scared and hide under a car,
and Canela would wait for him to come out.
She was happy the weeks Bart was at home, but when, he left, Canela was alone again. I hate myself for this, but I didn't pay enough attention to her, being busy doing other things. The poor dog felt so lonely... and now that she's not here, the one that feels lonely is me. I really miss her.
