This is his biofilter box handsomely disguised off to the side. It contains lots of fiber matting and some whole oyster shells.

His extensive filter and pump system is housed in a pumphouse nearby. The enormous filter is only cleaned every 6 years or so. He has sand filters and UV lights treating the water before it goes into the biofilter box.
