Forever Who You Were

Have you ever believed in reincarnation? There's an old belief that you will return to earth as a creature which you once wronged, or one which you just simply never understood in your last life, in an effort to teach you how they felt concerning your actions. For example, that ant you stepped on because... well, just because it was on your front step, may have been on his way home with food to feed his family and may end up being you 50 years from now.

Maybe a tuna fisherman would return as a dolphin. Sounds glorious, but what if that dolphin happens to be one of many who become tanggled in tuna nets. Could you imagine being that dolphin, looking up from a net and seeing only 10-12 rubber suit clad, hairy faced, men laughing at you while you are battered from all sides by 2 tonne panicking tuna fish. You can perfectly understand what is happening. Hells, you did it yourself for 32 years until that day that damn dolphin knocked you overboard while trying to escape... and just then you realize.... "I'm a DAMN DOLPHIN!" You franticly search for a way out of the net. You try to escape, but your movements only entangle you more, until you feel something hard against your tail and see the large splash as a man falls into the water. You look more closely and recognize the man as being your own son, who secured -your- job, on -your- boat, after -your- death, and who, like you, can not swim worth a damn.

Your death goes unmorned while you cling to eternity, wondering if your son shall share your fate.
