Week 7 Continued |
The Bikers Go To The Dogs Red Dogs vs. California Bikers Who is that sneaking up on everyone in the DBFFL? Is it a bird? A Plane? A four-legged beer drinker? If you guessed the latter of the three, you'd be right! Cam Fels, Owner of the Red Dogs has managed to bring his team back into respectability with a 3 - 4 record and a team that is on the move. With Brett Favre leading the way via his 39 points and Ron Dayne actually contributing this past week(26 pts), the Dogs are not the same team they were only a few weeks ago. "After calling Brett last week to get things going for us again, I decided to make it a weekly ritual and if seems to have paid off the last two weeks" said the Dogs Owner. And paid off is exactly what Favre's peformances have meant to the Red Dogs. Of course it didn't hurt Cam either that Eric Moulds had a big day with 38 points and the Broncos defense contributed 27 points. "If you get that kind of production you sure have a good chance to win" noted California Bikers Owner Jim Berg. "What could I do this week? How could I know that Peyton wouldn't have such a good game and my running back, Obafemi Ayanbadejo, would have a horrible game?" Yeah we hear you Jim. Unfortunately, you can't go back now so you have to look forward and what next week brings you, the Razor's Edge. Can you say "GO KANSAS CITY!!" May the Chiefs play EXCELLENT defense this weekend, right? Final Score: Red Dogs 144 California Bikers 99 The Thunder Pull Out The 'W' And Win On Thin Ice Glass City Thunder vs. Desert Ice Not to take away from a decent showing by the Glass City Thunder, the real story of this game came down to Mark Brunell and Jimmy Smith, two of the Ice's players. Brunell, QB for the Desert Ice, has been absolutely terrible the last couple of weeks. This isn't his fault though because the Jaguars offensive line has all but left him due to injuries and the players that are left seem more like door attendants rather than blocking specialists. What does this mean? It means more time on the turf for Brunell and lower numbers for Brunell and his receiving core, which includes Jimmy Smith. "It's a real bummer what's going on in Jacksonville. Tom Coughlin (Jags Head Coach) had better help the situation out or I'll have to look at another QB to keep the Ice in the hunt " noted Ice Owner Dennis Berg. The Thunder, on the other hand, were solid at QB with Drew Bledsoe picking up a decent 31 points and their 2nd best receiver, David Boston, chimed in with 34 points. "We knew coming in that the Ice wouldn't just hand this to us on a silver platter, but how could Berg know that Jimmy Smith would leave the game in the first quarter with a knee injury (listed as a bruise) and Brunell would go flat (on his back that is)" said Thunder Owner Dave Skeens. "We took it to them, gave it our best more or less and now we got the win and the Ice got another loss. Now on to bring some more light to the Dark Ryders and watch them lose another game." Final Score: Glass City Thunder 118 Desert Ice 113 |
