WorldInfo: An Information Resource on International Markets Accessible through the World Wide Web

My thesis project. This report documents my building and testing of a on-line prototype of an information resource accessible through the World Wide Web intended for use by decision makers dealing with International Business and the Design of products and services for Global Markets. The WorldInfo prototype was tested by actually having potential users visit the site and providing feedback by filling out questionnaires. The potential users were reached by posting messages about the project in mailing lists dealing with relevant subjects such as International Business, Industrial and Interface Design and Management Information Systems.


Netiquette

An introduction to Netiquette. Under development. Discusses issues in involved in communicating online and how it differs from conventional communication. The intended audience is K-12 school teachers who are novice users of the Internet.


Going Online

An introduction to the Internet. Under development. Provides an overview of the Internet and information on how to go about getting Internet access. The intended audience is K-12 school teachers who are novice users of the Internet.


Netscape Help Section (Mac Version | PC Version)

A Help Section on using Netscape that I have developed. Incorporates Javascript based interactivity. May be somewhat graphics intensive if you have a slow connection: it is designed to run off a CD-ROM. I am working on a version optimized for online use.


A Natural Marriage:Incorporating the World Wide Web into the Teaching of International Business

A paper on the use of the World Wide Web to deliver an Introduction to International Business course (BA 555) in a large class format (250 students) at The Ohio State University.

Presented at NAU/web.97, a conference on Web based education at the Norther Arizona University.


On-line User Testing on the World Wide Web

A paper based on my experiences with the testing of my thesis project, WorldInfo, a prototype of an information resource accessible through the World Wide Web intended for use by decision makers dealing with products and services for international markets.

This paper was submitted to CHI97, a conference organized by SIGCHI (Special Interest Group on Human Computer Interaction).


Personal Transportation for China: A Study of the Possibilities

A proposal for the Design of a Personal Transport Vehicle appropriate for Developing Countries. The specific focus of this study was China. My experiences locating relevant information resources had a significant bearing on my thesis project (see WorldInfo, above). August 1995.


Design for Global markets: A Study Of The Potential Use Of Internet Resources

The objective of this study was to identify sources of information on the Internet relevant to the process of Design for Global Markets. June 1995.


A Delphi Study of Issues Relating to Design for Global Markets

A study conducted over the Internet using the Delphi method. The objective was to identify key issues relating to Design for Global Markets. The participants were from a mailing list called IDFORUM, which deals with Indstrial Design. March 1995.
