Well, er, not that it is so interesting..Born and raised in Brescia, a small city in the north of Italy, close to Milan, Verona, the mountains, and a beautiful lake, the lake of Garda. After scientific studies, took the path of foreign languages & literatures, and attended Verona's University. Here is where I got the fever x applied linguistics and research, and the bug for technology & Internet communications. Main interests (academic): SLA, CMC, foreign language teaching/learning, education technologies, distance learning, qualitative research (exp. Conversation Analysis), Interlanguage Pragmatics. I graduated in 1996 and since then I have been collaborating with Verona University Language Center as a researcher, and with Brescia Catholic University as a teacher and specialist in information technologies for applied linguistics.  In 1998 got a Fulbright Grant x the US, University of Hawaii at Manoa, as a visiting researcher x three months... It's a great place!  I liked it so much that in 1999 I applied for the Master Program in English as a Second Language.  I have been accepted, and in August 1999 I definitively moved to Hawaii, Honolulu, were I live nowadays.  In the meanwhile, I always managed to find the time to "play around" with many sports.  Actually, I practice(d) every sort of sport, but I prefer open-air challenging stuff, always been skiing (familiy heritage). For some years I was a keen free-climber,  doing also competitions (2 regional titles, 3rd place Italian Championships 1992, some World-Cup contest).  But fundamentally I love water and do a lot of swimming, in Hawaii i discovered surfing, which I love, and especially windsurfing It seems that I ended up in the right place for this.. Oahu is a great windsurfing spot, and I write monthly reports for an italian windsurfing magazien, Windsurf Italia. Soon I will post some links and pics in this page, by now.. that's enough.
