HACKS That MIGHT be made to the NOKIA 6120 Last Updated: 28-12-1998 (KIDS: Do not PLAY with this at home ! :)
- The most innocent hack :) is to turn on the NAM programming, software INFO and FIELD test menu by entering the following sequence: *3001#12345#
- Remove your phone provider name (or the "Home System" default string) from the main screen, and replace it with the one you like:
1) *3001#12345#
2) Find which NAM is in use (not always is NAM 1; in my case was NAM 3)
3) Go to ALPHA TAG
4) Write what ever you want.
ADVICE: Be sure you do not change any other value.
- To program the NAM 1 you can also type in: *#639#
- Available security codes (there are more, please send them to me):
- *#639#
- *#9999#
- *3001#12345#
- *#92772689#
- The James Bond trick (taken from http://www.chez.com/zanza/ZANZASMS/6110.html)
If you short-circuit the left and the right contact with the middle contact ("3", "6" and "9") the Nokia Software hangs! The profile "Headset" will be activated. Before you do this, just active the "auto call receive" function in the headphone profile and set the ringing volume to "mute" Now you can use your phone for checking out what people are talking about in a room. Place the phone somewhere under a table in this room and call your phone! The phone receives the call without ringing and you can listen to the words these people are talking about!! Nice hack Mr. Bond, huh?
This place is still waiting for more stuff .... All I can propose in here is some kind of wish-list :)
- It seems that the phone carries a complete set of menu driven technical stuff ... In order to gain access to this menu it seems that you need to do a very complex hardware modification proceedure ... anyway, some people say that this technical menu can be activated via software.
- Be able to UN-MUTE the receptor side of the phone, and be able also to select the cell channel that we want to hear (as it could be done with the good old motorolas)
- Have custom FLASHROMS codes with any kind of useful "Enhancements" like -for example- being able to control the VCR or the TV with the infrared port :)
