Concepts, innovation and product development are of paramount importance. They are the result of a partnership, a partnership of ideas and of people working in collaboration. Business partners, value added resellers and dealers are all ears listening to their customers, understands their needs and take action. Each feedback information received and new ideas from the parking industry's leading players, experts and also end users that ultimately lead to new customer solutions and new systems upgrades to improve revenue and cost effectiveness of the ParcsSoft product. ParcsSoft - Parking Revenue Collection System Software was the first of its kind known in Malaysia since early 1994, being developed locally catering for our Malaysian car parking industry's standards and requirements. Our system's strength is its ease of use and manageability by all level of user as it runs on 16-Bit DOS Operating System, Webcorp's Web or Novell Personal Netware. Usage of this system allows its customers to upgrade their existing mechanical parking fee system with computerized pre-printed barcode tickets or print on demand ticketing features into the present hardware device and thereby enables linking of the ticketing peripheral to a centralized Revenue Control Software of ParcsSoft via a Local Area Network (LAN) utilizing either Webcorp's Web Version 4.02 or Novell Personal Netware Version 1.0. Each dispensed ticket data is being captured via using a mounted pen scanner and captured data will be transmitted to the central server for storage. Every connected workstation or cashiering unit will then be able to extract the ticket information upon presentment by the customer upon exiting the parking lot. There are two version in the ParcsSoft family. It comes as a Lite and Deluxe version. The differences between both versions are that the Lite version works as a standalone unit without any linkages to any ticketing peripherals whereby the Deluxe version must be connected via a LAN to each and every workstation via RS-485 serial communication to each ticket dispensing units.
This parking software application was first conceptualized in early 1993, it all started with a scratch idea of having a localized fee collection software to handle revenue collection at exit points instead of the normal legacy POS cash registers used at various carpark sites. The software development took many man hours to structure, design and implement. The very first beta release version was the v1.0 and being first introduced to the local parking market in June 1994, which is firstly used at Plaza Putra (Dataran Merdeka) and Wisma CycleCarri Kuala Lumpur for tracking tickets dispensed from legacy AMANO and PPI ticket spitter machines, the dispensed tickets are all preprinted with barcode. This version has a lot of limitations in terms of features and reports to cater for the local parking operators demands and high end requirements. A lot of upgrades and program patches were done up for the v1.0b before it was release whereby much required functionality was included. Not long after the v1.0b release, it was soon replaced with v1.0c with new improvements. The version 1.0c was fully re-developed and launched in early January 1997 replacing the v1.0a and v1.0b by redesigning the whole core structures and rewriting the core program flow with improved data capturing, handling, auditing and rate calculation features to cater for the demanding requirements set by our parking operators and consultants in Malaysia. It was later implemented in Wisma Cosway (Formerly Wisma Stephens), Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Kompleks Antarabangsa, since then new features were implemented and perfected, v1.0f was released in November 1999 replacing v1.0c with better data capturing of bar-coded tickets dispensed from PTC Parking machines and included more auditing, tracking, rate calculation and enhanced reporting functions. The version v2.0 was totally revamped with new screen interface and updated main core structures was released in mid March 2000 replacing the v1.x. Subsequently later in June 2000 v3.28 was released to cater for newer and faster Intel Pentium III Series Processors with faster computing speeds and additional features. January 2001 marked the release of v3.48a which was subsequently improved with v3.48b released in June 2001 which comes with added features implemented for the cashiering modules. In May 2002 ParcsSoft v3.50 was released to take advantage of the processing power of newer versions of AMD and Intel Pentium Processors. Users of this version onwards may be able to know the update build numbers of the ParcSoft software instead of the usual revision characters of v3.50(a) and so forth. It was later updated from v3.5x to v3.59 in November 2003. There has been much inquiry for the standalone system as most building owners, parking operators and system integrators wanted only cashiering system to extend the current cash register's unit functionality with minimal Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). In November 2003, a ParcsSoft Lite version has been introduced to cater for Standalone systems without any integration to dispensing units and to the Server and Administration Modules. The ParcsSoft Lite version is a scaled down version but it contains most of the common functionality of the Standard ParcsSoft Deluxe version but has limited in-built cashiering functions, utilities and minimal set of reporting options. ParcsSoft v3.60 was released on January, 2005. Minor patch was release on February 2005. Later in March 2005, ParcsSoft v3.63 was released resolving the Build (0902.2005.0018) and (2102.2005.0012). June 2005 ParcsSoft v3.63 Build 1306.2005.0017 was released updating previous Build (0103.2005.0011) and (1703.2005.0018). Subsequently ParcsSoft v3.64 Beta was released on 20th June. ParcsSoft System are being implemented, installed, operated and run by various well known local independent parking operators, property and building owners in Malaysia. As to-date the current version for the ParcsSoft System is v3.64 Build (2309.2005.0021) with additional features and product enhancements. ParcsSoft Revision / Update Log
