Auto Execute

This batch file is read every time your computer starts up. It contains the commands to finish configuring your system devices and start your desired environment. This is a simple text file you can easily edit.

Most programs will edit this file when they install, adding information relating to the new program. If they need to find files from anywhere on your hard drive, the Path line will have the new program directory name added to the it. This is the most common procedure.

TIP: To edit the autoexec.bat startup file use this commandline:

edit c:\autoexec.bat

More information is available at BootCamp.
