These links provide access to the neuroscience community. It is neuroscientists which will pioneer neuroregeneration and allow for brain transplantation to be successful with full motor function recovery.
Neuroscience
and Aging Institute This is a one page advertisement of the institute
explaining its credentials and facilities to prospective neuroscientists
and students of neuroscience.
Biological Psychology Resources on the Web A very impressive collection of materials: an MRI tutorial, lots of MRI and related photographs of brain anatomy, links to other educational resources, shareware and entire articles.
Brain Research Association Neuroscience Resources Another good list of resources in lists of centers, journals and interest groups as well as miscellaneous related sites of interest. Some photos and movies of neuroscience are linked to here as well.
Center for Cognitive Neuroscience A program at Dartmouth that studies the relationship of brain to behavior. advertises its own society, journal and text book in the field and describes its faculty, etc.
Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience This is an inter-institutional organization coordinating the neuroscience efforts of the 3 universities of the Caribbean.
Centre for Neural Systems This is a center at the University of Edinburgh in Britain that focuses on computational neuroscience and neural networks. The research is described by topic and accessed directly via links to the home pages of the professors involved. An apparent e-mail list of faculty is provided as well.
Cognitive Neuroscience Resources This is an extensive listing of institutions and conferences on cognitive neuroscience from the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition.
Emotional Intelligence - the Neuroscience of Feelings A superb resource on the neuropsychology of emotional intelligence (EI). The page starts out with a good description of EI as described in the book by Daniel Goldman. Unofficial tests of EI are provided for your amusement as well. (The book Emotional Intelligence is good. I read it. It gets a little slow moving or repetitious around midway through the book though. Another book called Creativity by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi is at least as good.)
Neuroengineering and Neuroscience Center This center is primarily an outpost of users of NEURON, a simulator of neural networks used mostly by Yale University faculty. Some useful links are also included especially those relating to NEURON software and its use.
Neuroscience for Kids A resource to help elementary and secondary education teachers educate their students about the brain, nervous system, sensors and neurons with fun neuro-games and experiments, etc.
Neuroscience at Urbana, IL I included this link because I'm very impressed with the program offered here in both its breath and depth. The information is entirely limited to descriptions of their neuroscience programs.
Salk Institute This is a very impressive and prestigious institution of basic research that, among other areas, has a focus on neuroscience.
Synesthesia - Phenomenology and Neuropsychology A very interesting article presented in its completion by a neuroscientist who tracks the characteristics of those who physiologically have "cross-modal" sensations especially seeing sounds as colors (the most common example).
Non-Cartesian Cognitive Science This is a very heady attempt to cause a "paradigm shift" in cognitive science in favor of philosophically different assumptions than what is referred to as a "reductionistic model" of thoughts as brain's activity only. The approach is to see the body/ mind duality of Renee Descartes as a unity which is neither a union nor duality. The implications here are not clear (to me anyway) but are explored in great scholarly depth.
The Journal of Neuroscience Online This is the home page for this prestigious scientific journal and its associated organization the Society for Neuroscience. An interesting feature is a search engine for all issues of the journal and one for future issues as well.
Neurodegeneration Contents This page merely lists the contents of the current issue of this scientific journal about neurodegeneration, neuroprotection and neuroregeneration. It is hosted by the Nottingham University Medical School.
