Pictures from Anime Expo 2001

Anime Expo 2001 was AX's ten-year anniversary, so the staff probably tried extra hard to make sure things went well, which mostly happened. On the very down side, my car was vandalized on the last day of the show, *after* we had loaded all of our stuff into the car. Well, in retrospect it doesn't seem that awful. Hidenori Matsubara, character designer for the Ah! My Goddess OVAs and movie, sketches his biggest Belldandy ever...

...which is then awarded to the winner of a mass jun-ken-pow game. So, no, they're not hailing him.

Kikuko Inoue, voice actress for Belldandy, posed for a photo that was soon digitized onto an image with Belldandy herself. Very cute.

Many people dress up in costumes for AX. Mostly adults, but occasionally an adorable child.

Another pic of the Pikachu kid.

The Pikachu kid again, still adorable.

Many starving artists inhabit the aptly named Artists' *Alley.*

Saria, Link, and Princess Zelda. People dress up as not only anime characters but also video game characters, especially Final Fantasy characters.

A more formal pose by the three heroes of Hyrule.
