Introduction to Nonlinear and Chaotic Phenomena

The purpose of this tutorial is to provide a short introduction to nonlinear and chaotic phenomena, in particular those I studied at the Nonlinear Electronics Laboratory at UC Berkeley. For those with Java compatible browsers, several Java applets are provided for interactive experimentation. Currently, the following sections are available in this tutorial. Hopefully, I will add more sections in the future.

Most of the Java applets are simulating dynamical systems and are very computation intensive. Therefore a fast machine or JIT-enabled browsers are recommended for running these applets. Somehow the applets work best when viewed with Microsoft's Internet Explorer.
