Productions & Shows

During my years at Murray State University, I had the pleasure of working with David Balthrop, Director of Theater, and his talented staff. Working along side David and attending his classes gave me hands-on experience in the art of lighting. I would like to thank him for the sharing of his technical knowledge.

Here is a list of mainstage productions that I worked on at Murray State:

Anything Goes, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Charlotte's Webb, The Comedy of Errors, The Foreigner, Lend Me a Tenor, Little Shop of Horrors, 14th Annual Dance Theater Concert, 15th Annual Dance Theater Concert

The King and I (Bluegrass Theater Guild)

Oleanna

15th Annual Dance Concert

The Foreigner

Anything Goes

Have you ever needed low hanging fog but did not have any dry ice available? Rent a smoke/fog machine and buy large ice cooler, also a 3' long x 1" to 1.5" dia. rubber automotive hose, and a 4" dia. plastic flexible duct tube. Cut a 4" dia. hole in one end of the of the cooler close to the bottom edge and cut a hole for the rubber hose in the opposite end close to the top edge of the cooler. Duct tape the rubber hose to the smoke outlet of the fogger and insert the other end into the cooler. Connect the flexible duct to the cooler and seal all cracks with duct tape. Fill the cooler to the top with ice and place the lid on. The hot smoke will be forced down through the ice and out the flexible duct-- now colder than the ambient air temperature and hangs close to the floor.

**Words of caution!!!

The rubber hose from the fogger will get very hot and can melt the plastic cooler if the hose is not at least 3 feet long. The cold fog flowing out the flexible duct will leave a very slippery layer of oily residue of "smoke juice", hence don't use this where people may walk unless you have good liability insurance. The melted ice will produce water/ oil runoff which will need to be contained or it too can make a mess, but don't let any of this discourage you -- experiment, have fun, and amaze others.

Oh how I love Lasers!

Yes that's yours truly, and under his own lights!
