Mandelbrot
Try out this fractal plotting program. It plots the basic Mandelbrot set at different zoom levels. See the readme.txt file for instructions(or suffer the consequences).

For those of you who don't know : a fractal (term coined by Mandelbrot in 1975) is an infinitely detailed (and usually beautiful) geometric pattern created with a mathematical formula. There are virtually no limits to the variety of different fractal images that can be created. They may be classified into three main categories, namely : Mandelbrot, Julia, and Newton patterns.
See my Links page for sites with more information and some great images.

Click on the image to zoom in by a factor of [Zoom factor].
Try increasing [Maximum iterations] to 500 or more, it will add a lot
of detail to the fractal rendering (but slow down a bit).
