What I Enjoy and Pursue

I love smooth Jazz, Space, Guitar and Christian music the most, but I sometimes tune to the classical music or 80's and 90's variety music station. I watch StarTrek the Next Generation, X-Files and sometimes JAG. I enjoy fishing and hiking in the good ole Rocky Mountains and those in the New Hampshire/Vermont area . I am just starting to play racquetball and keep my balance rollerblading. I enjoy outdoors, especially the evening sky, country sky that is. I'm also hoping to take up sailing and boating since I'm near the ocean now. Eventually I want to travel "sail" around the world and visit my friends. On my main page I've already said how much I love to do community service and volunteer with non-profit organizations and Christian ministries.

Amateur Radio, Satellites and Space Shuttles, Computers and the Internet

One favorite hobby of mine is Amateur "HAM" Radio. My callsign is N0WPG. I am gaining interest in microwave design and contests. Primarily 10 GHz. . If you are into renewable energy, the ultimate site to check out is here.

I enjoy using the radio equipment to monitor the birds (amateur and weather satellites). I have even tried to talk every once in a while to (MIR and the Space Shuttle). I use a variety of tracking programs, or computer orbit plotting programs like STSPLUS and TRACKSAT, but my favorite is STSPLUS. STSPLUS by David Ransom can be found in the pub/hamradio/pc/satellite/ subdirectory at oak.oakland.edu software libraries. This program is fantastic for following the latest shuttle missions or weather satellite passes, especially since it tracks multiple targets, has a variety of visual prjections and is generally fun to work with and easy to use. I use DOS, Windows95/NT and Unix/Linux envrionments. I don't do much programming, rather I enjoy the hardware aspects of computers. I have some knowledge of networking like LAN, ATM, and other misc. stuff. I also do some internet and web design consulting on the side.
