Tears for Twin Brothers 9/11/01
by C.L.F./ Rayden Tron
In an age where beauty is in so many places
Yet so hard to find,
I grew up in the shadows of twin brothers
Who'd whisper in my ears, "Look up! Look up!"
And though I was no tourist
I could seldom refuse
They'd tell me, "You could do great things."
"Be strong and brave." "Dream big dreams."
"Your life can change the world."
I never thought they'd fall
And tear out a piece of my soul
All our souls
Silencing the message they sung out to the world
Information they gave freely to all
Leaving a ghastly void
How I miss them so
Ache for their reassurance that all is well
And their dares to make it better still
They were innocents cut down in their prime
And with them went
People's love
Ambitions
Enterprises
The organic whole of families
The lasting companionship of friends
And our most steadfast protectors
All to those unworthy of humanity
Those who made an atheist who feels no God
Believe in the Devil
May the restless spirits of my twin brothers
And the children of flesh who died in their embrace
Torment those mortal demons forever
And imbue those of us remaining
With the strength to resurrect
The burning desire to see the twin brothers rise again
So all that was lost may not be sacrificed in vain
We need to hear their songs again
We need to be teased, "Look up! Look up!"
We need a place for our bodies to stand and be sheltered
While our spirits soar on great flights of fancy
And our minds birth the betterment of all
