This page has information on using the Microchip PIC17C766 MCU. I put this here because I haven’t found much information on using the PIC17CXXX series on the internet. Unlike the majority of the “FLASH” parts that they produce, the 17C7XXX series are harder to buy, harder to program, as well as more expensive.

PIC17C766 Specs:

            16K X 16 bits program memory

            Maximum operating frequency: 33MHz (8.25MIPS)

            902 bytes of RAM

            8 X 8 hardware multiplier

16 channel 10-bit analog to digital converter (A/D)

            66 I/O pins

            Brown-out reset

            18 external interrupts

            Watchdog timer (WDT)

            Power-on reset (POR)

            2 USARTs

            4 capture inputs

            3 10-bit PWM outputs

            16 level stack

            58 instructions

Overall I have been wanting to play with this processor for some time now. Unfortunately my time has been somewhat limited. Luckily I had a few days to start playing with it and must admit that it takes some getting use to. As I develop more and more “routines” for the PIC17C7XX series I will post them as well as the all information one would need to duplicate it.

PIC17C7XX Routines:

Interfacing a 2x20 LCD to the PIC17C766.
