The following photos are taken from a Japanese Quad brochure from around 1982. Interestingly, the 33/303 combo was still very much part of Quad's marketed product range at this time, as illustrated by this photograph. |

Featured in this photo is an early version of the 44 pre and 405 power combo. Distinguishable as an early model by its kaki housing, yellow/red button colour scheme, and large LED's (later versions had smaller LED's in little holders) the 44 was Quad's flagship pre at this time. The 405 featured here is an early version too (before the mark II upgrade, and the associated protection-circuit improvements) |

This is the only official Quad photo to ever feature the older ESL57 and new ESL63 in the same shot. This was presumably to associate the new ESL63 with the great reputation the ESL57 had (and still has) in Japan at this time. I love the imagery of the shaft of light falling on the new ESL63 whilst the older ESL57 stands by in the background... |
