- Jul 26, 2004: Dr. S. R. Mohanty, Fellow, leaves for Bhubaneswar en route to Singapore to work with Prof. Paul in the area of spectroscopy of laser produced plasma at Plasma Radiation Source Laboratory, National Institute of Education, Singapore. He will stay there for three months.

- Jun 15, 2004: CPP commissioned its first high temperature plasma laboratory. This project is being sponsored by BRNS, Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India, and is being executed in collaboration with Laser & Plasma Technology Division of BARC, Mumbai.
- Jun 14-18, 2004: Dr. A. K. Das and Egr. P. S. S. Murty of Laser & Plasma Technology Division, BARC, Mumbai, visit CPP.
- Jun 04-05, 2004: CPP celebrates World Environment Day by plantation at its campus and by holding a quiz competition among school childrens.
- May 20, 2004: Heman Bhuyan, Post Doctoral Fellow at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Santiago, Chile, and a former RF of CPP defends his Ph. D. thesis in Gauhati University. His work was supervised by Prof. S. Bujarbarua and Dr. S. R. Mohanty.
