History

The laboratory is founded in 1958 as a laboratory of microbiology in the Biological Institute of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences of the USSR. The founder and first head was Prof.V.I.Poltev (1958-1966), then it was headed by Gricenko I.N. (1966 - 1978), V.M.Scharapov (1978 - 1990), T.K.Kalvisch (1990 - 1993). Since 1993 the laboratory of microbiology is headed by V.V.Glupov.
The laboratory of virology is founded in 1964. The first head was Prof.Vorobjova N.N. (1964 - 1974), then it was headed by Larionov G.V. (1974 - 1995), Bakhvalov S.A. (1995 - 1998). Since 1998 after incorporation laboratory of microbiology with laboratory of virology was formed the laboratory of insect pathology which headed by V.V.Glupov.
