"A man travels the world over in search of what he needs and returns home to find it." - George Moore
1) God is perfect and just and will not tolerate the presence of sin.

2) If we have committed even only one "small" sin, we still fall short and must pay the price of separation from God.

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," - Romans 3:23

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:23

3) Jesus Christ, who is also perfect and just, came to earth, lived as a man, and died to pay the price for the sins we have committed. He arose from the grave on the third day after His death and defeated sin once for all.

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16

"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9
