china button The modelling career

Living in Montreal for three and a half years, through what I fondly refer to as the university years, I was exposed to to the world of high fashion and film. Eventually, I developed an interest in modelling. Although I've never considered this to be a definitive career move, it has proven to be entertaining. I worked for a couple of different companies and was offered positions as an extra but wasn't able to do much due to serious time constraints.

Since my return to Ottawa, I have not pursued any avenues that would further this as I'm told that there is no print work here. I do however find this fun and will no doubt pick it up again should the opportunity arise...hense, below are some thumbnails from my portfolio...

I vaguely dabbled in the modelling field in China. Let's just say that their idea of a professional environment is a little different than the North American standard. I was actually asked to strip in front of about twenty people (mainly men - it is indeed true that they think all Western women are promiscuous. At any rate, I couldn't get past the notion that there was a hidden camera somewhere. The other problem is that copyright laws don't exist in China so you never know where or in what context you might appear. I quickly dropped the idea as it seemed safest.

DISCLAIMER: I am not tall enough for runway and never claimed to be (and yes, I've long since accepted the fact that I will never grow). I am thus only suited to print work
