A little about myself |

Let Me
introduce myself. My name is Adrian and I was born in 1963 in Jamestown South Australia where I lived for
nearly 10 years.
My parents
were Dutch and in 1972 my family returned to The
Netherlands. We went by one of
the prides of the Chandris Line. A boat called "The
Britanis". The trip took six weeks and fascinated me that
much that I wanted to keep contact with the world. Later a part
of my family missed Australia and returned. They still live
near the Gold Coast.
During a visit I brought an AM CB
radio back home to The Netherlands. I soon met up with
the world of DX-ing. I then bought my first radio a Midland
7001.
My hobby's
are my computer, Tennis, Volleyball and DX-ing. Especially on the 11 meter band.
You can imagine once I am on the radio I beam my antenna in the direction of the
43 division.
I 1985 I stopped DX-ing for 13 years. In the meantime I started studying for HAM
operator and passed my exams. In 1998 I started DX-ing on the 11 meter again.
I must say it did change a lot in those 13 years. Many DX-peditions and world
contests probably make it more professional but also less interesting in my
opinion.
I am married to Franka and have three lovely daughters.
(Nathalie, Tamara & Melanie). I work at the Philips Lighting company as an
integral planner.
I am a
member of the Double Dutch DX group.
We are a local group with only a few members. Together with some CB friends we started the group
in 1983.
We are not strangers, just friends who never met
the best regards and 73's from Adrian
