STRESS-STRAIN RELATIONSHIP

For the purpose of illustration, the stress-strain diagram for one of the four- brick specimens is presented. Initial modulus of elasticity is approximately 11 GPa. The material was almost linear up to the strain level of 0.2%. When loaded in uniaxial compression, the material is capable of maintaining a constant resistance after the strength is reached (Fig. 1). The stress-strain diagram exhibits almost ideal elasto-plastic behaviour with a ductility factor of 1.70.
