Confession time. I have far more video games than I'll ever be able to play. I probably have enough games, that I could retire tomorrow, and play games for the rest of my life. Sure towards the end, I'd be scrapping the bottom of that awful "1,000 Great Games" PC CD, but I could do it. Since I'm never going to see the bottom of my "To Play" pile, here's my quick impressions of my stack of Xbox games, if only to remind me of what I have and haven't played yet.

Battlestar Galactica 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Only about 15 minutes of play, but it could turn out to be a fun, low production value version of Rogue Squadron.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Hasn't seen the inside of my Xbox.

Conflict: Desert Storm 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Hasn't seen the inside of my Xbox.

Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Had fun 20 minutes until game asked me to do an Immelman. Blarg. Still continued on to play most of first mission, and if I can get over my motion-sickness, I need to re-visit.

Dead or Alive 3 2004-10-16

release-dev.png About an hour of playtime. Nice 3-D fighter, but SoulCalibur is more engaging.

ESPN NBA 2k5 2004-10-16

release-dev.png 2 games played. Reminds me why I don't like basketball games, although I do see its quality. Unlockables look, at first glance, to be uncompelling.

ESPN NFL 2k5 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Amazing. 20 hours on single player, 3 seperate 8 week leagues.

ESPN NHL 2k5 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Great hockey game. Skybox kind of lame in comparison to NFL's Crib. Minor interface differences between NFL and NHL are more frustrating than I'd expect.

Grand Theft Auto III 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Played through intro and first minor mission. Drove around a bit, promises to be fun.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Loaded to watch intro scren.

Guilty Gear X2 #Reload 2004-10-16

release-dev.png About an hour of play, one fight on Live. I keep thinking there's more to the game that I'm just not getting. Experience improves dramatically when you know a couple of moves.

Halo 2004-10-16

release-dev.png An FPS that I can actually play. For short periods of time anyway. I'm midway through the second chapter and am enjoying myself, but I doubt I'll see the end unless I play on the easiest setting.

The Italian Job 2004-10-16

release-dev.png In 30 minutes, I realized I'd be having more fun playing Midtown Madness 3. It strives to be a more realistic driving game than MM3, but it doesn't convey an authentic enough experience to deliver that impression.

Jet Set Radio Future 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Oozes style. Feels more lineral than Jet Grind Radio, but I'm not sure I care.

King Fu Chaos 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Oozes character. Interesting additions to fighting genre.

Links 2004 2004-10-16

release-dev.png 2,200 holes can't be wrong. Sure it's too easy to go too low, the putting is far too easy, the stroke is too easy, and there is the occasional glitch, but the golf is too fun to ingore. Play birdies as par, and just have fun.

Mace Griffen: Bounty Hunter 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Another FPS that makes me hurl.

Mechassault 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Great arcade mech game. I got in too late to think I'd be worthwhile in Live.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Hasn't seen the inside of my Xbox.

Midtown Madness 3 2004-10-16

release-dev.png I probably have a good 20-25 hours in this game, and it got me to search out Midtown Madness 2, and I'm still looking for Midtown Madness 1. I'd love to see Midtown Madness 4 ad infinitum. It really strikes a balance between the cartoony driving of Mario Kart and the ultra-realism of Gran Turismo. It is authentic enough to not break suspension of disbelief even when you're jumping off a ramp to grab a paint can hovering in mid-air.

Midway Arcade Treasures 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Played a couple of hours, mostly playing Sinistar and Joust 1 and 2. Historical info nice, but seems skimpy.

NBA Live 2003 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Played one game, looks and plays like a rushed effort for system launch.

NBA Street Vol. 2 2004-10-16

release-dev.png 4-5 games played, actually makes basketball fun.

Outlaw Golf: 9 More Holes of X-Mas 2004-10-16

release-dev.png I got this to see if Outlaw Golf on Xbox was better than it was on the GameCube. It isn't.

Panzer Dragoon Orta 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Hasn't seen the inside of my Xbox.

Project Gotham Racing 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Tight arcade racing with a little too much locked away at first. Driving for Kudos points intimidating at first.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Played to midway through first scenario. Fun, but not compelling like Rogue Squadron.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2004-10-16

release-dev.png To first area after intro area. One of the better Star Wars games so far.

Syberia 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Hasn't seen the inside of my Xbox.

Tetris Worlds 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Tetris with a plot. Huh, I didn't realize it needed one. People on Live are just too good for my style of play (slower and more methodical).

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 2004-10-16

release-dev.png So close, yet so far. Plethora of unlockables, very cool. Putting by following caddie's instructions and adding a couple feet, uncool. Control ball flight after stroke, takes a game that looks like a sim, and makes it arcade.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Hasn't seen the inside of my Xbox.

Top Spin 2004-10-16

release-dev.png Decent sucessor to Virtua Tennis, but falls short in a few areas. Can't save midway through a tournament? Someone needs to be shot for that design decision.

Triple Play 2002 2004-10-16

release-dev.png For the love of God, I don't know why I'm doing this, but I'm playing a full season with the Cincinnati Reds, the only concession to sanity I'm making is only 3 innings per game. I'm a month into it and 28-0. Still having fun despite, system launch rush suckiness.
