The Wade Edwards Foundation was founded to honor the life and spirit of Wade
Edwards by supporting in other young people the pursuit of the
virtues of determination, responsibility, honor, and charity. The
Foundation supports activities that honor these qualities in
students of achievement, and also activities that encourage all
students to strive for excellence. The current projects of the Foundation are the Wade Edwards Learning Laboratory, the Wade Edwards Short Fiction Award (in cooperation with the North Carolina English Teachers Association and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction), the Wade Edwards Memorial Scholarship (in cooperation with the National Endowment for the Humanities and Voice of America), and the Memorial Wall at Needham B. Broughton High School, Raleigh, North Carolina. The Wade Edwards Foundation is a public, non-profit organization, with charitable organization status under Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3).
