is my second attempt at creating skeleton bones with Styrofoam
Insulation ..
A Forearm.
Here
is the forearm. You can see the wire support (down one bone
and back the other.
The forearm bones have been roughly shaped at this point.
A
light coating of drywall plaster to prepare the bones for
the next stage.
After
lightly sanding the plaster, removing it in some places,
I lightly sprayed the Styrofoam with
a paint that attacks the Styrofoam and eats it away. This
was done very carefully. After this, a
second and third light coat with a Styrofoam friendly paint
and then some stain rubbed on with a rag to highlight the etched details.
Here
is the finished forearm, ready to attach to a hand.
