Here is a Psion model 3a:
Psion has difference models. In the summer 97 there came a new Psion 5. And in the '98
a new 3mx came, which has higher speed than the 3c from '97.
Psion 5 - new model of 1997
But I guess I will stay at my good old model - which does what it is expected to .. :)
Until I in summer '99 got a broken hinges (I had then used it for almost 4 years daily!) -
and as the screen where one of the first models with no spare-parts for the hinges, so the
hole screen need to be changed which cost about 100 £ ;-((
So I had to said goodbye to my old 3a and change to 3mx (2Mb DK-keyboard) for a upgrade price of 200 £ .. It has the same size as 3a, but are faster (28 MHz).
But here are the old stories ...
I am using Psion 3a as a Danish model with 512 kb memory. It has Danish keyboard with
æ, ø and å (this is a must if you are writing in Danish ;-)) ).
It is so small and light it easily can be in a pocket
Psion 3a is a small (165 x 85 x 22 mm as closed) and a weigh of 275 g incl. 2 AA battery.
It has a display of 17 lines of 80 character (480*160 pixels in black, white and grey). It
has a 7,7 MHz 16 bit NEC V30H processor (3mx: 28 MHz), and a digital soundsystem for
recording and playing.

This also include Psion Print which make it possible to TrueType printing from all application on Psion - on any Printer connected to the PC.
Plus Psion Database where you can use your databases directly on the PC. An nice facility at the office.
The Psion 3a has a lot of printerdrivers for the most common-used printers, so you can
print to these directly through a parallel cable. This is useful at a place where you are
not so well knowen, that the people would lead you there PC (Virus danger?).
Though the serial cable: 3Link you can also connect to your modem (though a nulmodem cable) and then call up a BBS using VT100. A simple one is build-in the cable, or use one of the shareware VT100.
Or you can fax using your modem again and one of the software Faxit. (or 3-Fax buyware).
There is a Webviewer (Html viewer ver. 1.204 which is freeware from dvmConsultent) so
you can look and edit these pages on the Psion everywhere.
And now it is possible to get Email-software and even Web-surf software for Internet (PsiMail and PsiWeb from Psion Plc)
