* What do they think of you doing it?
* They were very much against it at first. We had several conversations - I still visit with them occasionally - and they asked me to drop the idea. However, when I dug my heels in, they changed tack and basically said "well don't talk about X or Y or Z". In almost all cases, these turned out to be things I had no intention of revealing anyway.
* Do they have a veto over what you write?
* No, but I'm sensitive to their concerns which, in most cases, mirror my own. These include: protecting my identity; saying nothing that could identify a former co-worker or client; keeping the agency's name and whereabouts confidential. We have also agreed that there are certain aspects of the profession's "tradecraft" that I will not discuss in anything but the most general terms.
