The organiztions that participate under the system of fair and just trade
seek to address the injustices and imbalances that the present world trading
system imposes on small scale producers from the south of the world. In
particular this system tries to promote the concept of self-development in
small groups thus rendering credibile the concepts of justice and equality
that are so prevalent in counries of the rich world.
