April
3rd After the difficulties with combining different modules of my program, I'm now back in business. Technically, I've even slightly improved upon things, which is good right? I don't know what was causing the problems I was having, but I don't really care now I've got a version 4 of my program. I'm sure it's not the most up-to-date version though because of the speed in which I put the code together. After solving the problem of placing the animal onland (because of the difference of two variables in two different programs) I put the rest together in about 15 minutes. Don't know how, but I'm sure I'm missing something. Guess I'll soon find out if I am. I've started working on the flooding disaster, although it's playing up for some reason. The code should work, and it doesn't sorta...but it doesn't achieve the desired effect. Hmmm. Other than a bit of work, my day was pretty quiet. I did walk into town to kill some time in the afternoon in the vain hope my student loan had turned up. Especially since Chris had got his. Nope, nada thing. D'oh. Ah well, it's only one more day. I took out some money anyway 'cos I need some change for tomorrow's tea. Down to my final £10 now.... I so need a job. And speaking of jobs, it seems Jon's hooked us up with another website for a DJ this time. Thing is, this DJ is friends with The Roots (a pretty popular hip-hop group). Sounds good, although we've made next to no progress with Motion's site yet, let alone anyone elses! GRRR just more work for me. Night Chris.

April 4th Mood: Ugh Takes the piss. It really does. I've now lost my phone. I just know it's gone. Don't know where I lost it, I remember having it at college, and when I went to check my phone..and bam. It's not in my jacket. I checked and emptied my bag. Not there. Searched the house. No. I even tried calling it. It's times like this I wish I didn't have it permanently on silent. I guess I'm not as bothered as I should be considering the amount I paid for it, but even so. I guess things have just mounted up. I'm more bothered about the sim card with all the details and such. BLAH! Uni was alright. I only paid half attention in Steve's class to work on my project - I now have flooding working correctly. Well, almost. The animals don't drown yet, but that should be relatively straightforward. Like everything else. The evening class was okay, we played with some RMI which is basically running a program on different machines. Guess it's not so bad, though it's a little tricky to get your head around. Guess I got a week or two before I have to do that though - though it's only two weeks for my exams. ERK. I'm really not in the mood for this. Really. I guess 'cos I found out something that I'd done that had bothered someone. I didn't mean to, but I guess I screwed up and she'd got the wrong idea - not what we need right now. Go me. ¬.¬ And there's still no sign of my loan. I shouldn't get annoyed 'cos it's only a day late, but still other people got it early who don't start back yet. I'm off to watch some TV. Night. Chris.

April 5th Mood: Alright No, really. Okay, no. Got up about 10ish and watched TV - well, Married with Children. How I love that show =D. Anyone that doesn't watch it needs spading, because it's a really funny show, and Al Bundy is a legend =P. Terry picked me up and after a detour to a recycling plant and B&Q (in which Terry fooled the staff into thinking he was a builder than a customer, resulting in him getting a discount!), we went back to his place so I could teach him what the hell Steve's been teaching us over the last two lessons. Basically, we're studying how a compiler works. Now a compiler is a computer program that scans computer code that someone writes, and checks if it follows a list of rules. If the code follows the list of rules, the compiler says it's okay to run. Otherwise, it will throw an error and call you all sorts of names under the sun for being lame at programming. Well, not sure about the last bit. Terry seemed to get it and it took us less than an hour to go through it with him. Considering I didn't pay attention in class, I explained it pretty well. It's pretty easy to do, just a little long-winded following through the hundreds of rules and recursive calls. After that, he proceeded to chat about what Terry ALWAYS, WITHOUT FAIL talks about. College and holidays. He's going to Australia once the course finishes (missing my 21st in the process). He's also been complaining how he's lost interest in the college and how he's annoyed with them for not paying us. He ain't the only one. After that, we had a quick play on Unreal (his ball-less mouse sucks monkey - it doesn't turn as fast as I move the mouse). The mouse was so lame that Terry beat me, which is saying something =P. He got bored of it, and after trying to unsuccessfully install Alien vs Predator, he gave up. Apparently Terry's wife wants to look through my project. Well, can't complain at that, can I? More opinions and suggestions, although I think she'll be more strict with her feedback, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm coming down with a cold. Yay /sarcasm. Hopefully my loan will show tomorrow, could really do with it. I want my new phone, even though I've found my old one. It ended up in the back of Dans car. I guess it fell out when he was driving me home after Jeff's class. Erk. I'm relieved though. Still, I want my money so I can phone Holly and see if she's okay. Stupid loans people! I so can't be bothered with tomorrow's class. It's so boring! Anyone fancy saving me? Thought not. Night. Chris. P.S. Check out the new Deuce Bigalow 2 trailer. It's quality

April 6th Grrr, there's still no sign of a loan. Then again, there isn't supposed to be. Why you ask? Well, I went to the registry, and they said I should come back on Friday. I went to get my student loans form, and it turns out I don't paid until NEXT Monday, a week after I've gone back. I guess it's because Blackburn's accredited by Lancaster, who start back next week. Tarts. I spoke to Holly on the phone for a little while. It was great to hear her laugh, although I'm not 100% sure that she's happy. There seemed a hint of sadness in her voice, but I guess that's 'cos she's just moved from her friends. Don't want her being unhappy, but I can't do much, can I? I guess that phone call bucked me up. It's helped me make alot of progress with my project. I've got animals that drown when a flood occurs which was relatively straight forewards to implement (although by chance, there's a cool submerge effect going on). I've fixed my second tab bug as well by painting over the erroneous display and I've implemented a half working asteroid collision as well! If it hits the water, a tsunami is trigged. Okay, it's just a flood, but you get a cool asteroid decreasing in size as it approaches the land. I still have to make it leave a crater if it hits and land, but that shouldn't be too hard. I think. O_O Even after that, I'm a long way off. I've got diseases to unleash, hunting, mating, plant generation, the generation of statistics and so forth. So yeah, long way to go, but I've also come along way. If I keep this rate of progress up, I should have something to really show next Monday. Fingers crossed, eh? I've managed to read some more War of the Worlds (which I'm sure is due back real soon). It's a really good read. You know I don't recommend many fictional pieces, but this gets my seal of approval. You should get it from the library. Once I've finished of course. Unless you're from the US or something, then you can just go to your library. I guess as a blessing in disguise, the LPU's been real quiet lately. Total lack of interesting threads or even worth posting in. But it means I can focus on getting my work done though, which is nice. Although it's the end of an era. Jason and Kate have been demodded. Kate didn't even know her account was still active. Jason at least managed to say goodbye. Shame, because if he got on more, I know we'd have a great time. I met both Jason and Kate in my time over in LA during March 2003. We hung outside the Wiltern and had a mod-meet up. Four mods and two admin. Ahh good times. I remember me and Jason ran an errand for Tara to a supermarket across the road. We had to buy some Cheeto's when the checkout girl decided to talk to Jason and tell him about how she'd been feeling really ill and insisted on showing him the contents of her throat. Hmmm...nice. Bloody Americans, but it was a special laugh. As for Kate, well, yeah I'm not gunna go there after everything that happened, but you can tell times have changed. A few years ago, Kate, Tess and I would have a great laugh, but after that, things weren't ever the same. Blah. You'll never guess what I saw today. Cliff, of THE CLIFF PHENOMENON fame (see Humour section) was on THE WEAKEST LINK. Yes, one of my best mates from High School and 6th Form was on the show. And not only that, but he got down to the penultimate round. He was owning everyone and then suddenly lost his concentration. Shame, he could have bought many pints for us all with £1,700! Unlucky Cliff. Sorry, LITTLE Cliff as Anne called him. I guess she liked him ;), but Cliff was always popular with the ladies. Hell, he even hit on her! Anne: "Do you have a girlfriend Cliff?" Walker's recorded it so I'll be bringing screen caps soon! In other news, the Sunday football is looking to be delayed for at least a weekend with news that this weekend will see SNOW and rain. In April O_O. We also need to find more people to play with really. Walkies has a point in saying it'll be boring with just two of us. The class with Violeta bored me stupid to the point I wrote a list of things to do in my project. I'm making good progress through them, but there's a long way to go. I've done about 60-70% of the coding, and about 70% of the paperwork too so that's good..right? This weekend is going to drag but I'll be phoning Holly tomorrow. Good stuff. Night. April
7th It should get so much more coverage than it deserves, and so I'm gunna do what I can to get the word out about these two guys! Tonight's competition was for the guys to go on a blind date with the same woman. After she'd went on a date with them both, she'd pick one of them for a second date. So, Kenny goes first, and basically wines and dines her. Picnics, walks in gardens, coffee etc., basically really treating her well. And then Kenny had a stroke of genius. He switched the blind date girl with a friend of his. So now Spenny would go on a date with Kenny's friend, rather than this blonde. He told her to pick him over Spenny for obvious reasons. It worked such a treat lol. The real blonde met up with another friend of Kenny's who tried his worst to put her off. Eating limberg (type of cheese jsyk), being unshaven, really greasy etc. It was great lol. Spenny wasn't doing so bad until the date brought up Kenny saying how nice he was. That pushed Spenny over the edge who freaked out and caused an argument. So yeah, he didn't do himself any favours. And the humliation? 15 minutes with a transexual dominatrix. OY yet LOL at the same time. (Next week it's a roflcopter ;)). I've made some more progress with my work too, which is good. It now has the ability to output statistics on the second tab, and output the statistics to a text file. In the space of a few hours too! Not bad at all, if I do say so myself. I'm not sure where to go next, but I can't really be bothered to be honest. I've done alot of work lately, and while I've got plenty more to do, I'm thinking about taking a break for a day or two. In other news, I had fun in the afternoon. Not. My sister 'borrowed' my mp3 player. That's something you just don't do. Hell, I don't trust myself with it, let alone someone who isn't the greatest with technology and manages to break CD players. Several of them. That weren't hers. =x The only time I've let anyone really play with it was Holly. Once. Which says it all really! Anyway, she's hidden it on me in the past for a 'joke'. Well, my parents had words with her for it, and I thought she'd learned her lesson. But no. So yeah, I was kinda pissed. Soooo, I got my own back. It was her turn on the PC when she got home, so I unplugged the keyboard and hid it in my room. Why? So she couldn't go on her precious MSN and talk to people. Hehe. Then I realised we have spare keyboards in my sisters room, so I removed the enter key from one and the spacebar from the other. I was going to give her the keyboard back after I'd returned from a short errand. Enough to make a point, but not enough to deprive her of all her computer time. Let's just say she didn't take it too well. Cue green skin and ripped shirts. I'm just glad I was the other side of the computer desk when she realised what I'd done! She freaked out and started swearing loudly lol. My dad warned her over and over to the point she got grounded (ha =P) then she stormed off to her room. After a little more hecky-pecky-ness, turns out she's stressed from college work. Well, I can sympathise with that, so I had to pester her into submission to get her to tell me what was up. Then she did a typical teenage thing and I set her straight. Not sure if it sunk in or not, but I know what it's like to get in that state. I just don't get THAT wound up. Gotta love hormones. /amazingly obvious lie. And now I'm off to play some more FIFA. Night. Chris.

April
9th Yay! I got my loan! And not-so-yay! I spent alot of it! Yes, in one day, I spent almost £200. *dies* So much for self-restraint. The majority went on my sexy new Motorola V625 which is simply ace. Especially compard to my last phone (the Panasonic GD65). The camera - which I was worried was gunna be dodgy (after seeing the quality of my sisters V500) - turned out to be of impressive quality. Okay so it's not a digital camera quality, and it doesn't take several megapixels worth of an image but it's a phone, not a camera. The games seem more fun - a golfing game (...yay?) and a sidescrolling fighter pilot game (yay!). The ringtones are reasonable (I'll work on getting some better ones in the future, right now I'm just getting used to how the thing works. It's also registered! Yes, it may have taken me OVER A YEAR to register my previous phone (I'm not sure how I worked that?) but it was registered before I even owned it. And the nice people at Carphone Warehouse gave me £10 of airtime as well. And since my first top up was £10, I got another £1 free from O2 as a thankyou for registering! Can't complain at that. Although I've spent a fair amount of it already. As soon as I got home I switched it on (it was half-charged) and rang Holly. She seemed happier which is good. We didn't talk for too long, but at least I know she's okay. I would have spent longer in town, but with HMV being pricey in comparison to Amazon, I ended up buying only one CD - Dilated People's Expansion Team. It's an alright album. Not brilliant, but I paid £9 for it, so I can't expect it to be groundbreaking or anything, right? Although it does have the quality track 'Worst Comes To Worst'. Gotta love The Alchemist. HMV also gave me a free sampler CD. Not listened to it yet, but it does have Fischerspooner, Simple Plan and Hell is for Heros on there. Guess I can't expect too much for free. Also went clothes shopping for some new tees and shirts. I wanted another cool shirt for when I met up with Walkies and Cliff (we were gunna meet up and see if Cliff was interested in goin out for a drink). In the end Walkies never showed up, so the plan didn't happen. Ah well, at least I got to see Doctor Who (which is still weird). Not long for the Daleks to show \o/. Burtons had NOTHING. George had NOTHING. Matalan had very little (don't knock it, Matalan's a saviour for us student-types!), but in the end I bought two new tees including a 'BEER MONSTER' tee. Not bad at all =P. Saturday afternoon was boring...well, the Cellar was. It's getting quieter and more boring. And my male admirer was out. ¬.¬ He'll be out more now he knows I'm out on the afternoons. Wonderful ¬.¬ The evening out wasn't much better. Vies sucked really. The music was poor (I don't even remember most of it, which says it all). I spent lots of money. Holly wasn't there. Kay was feeling ill. There weren't many of my mates out. LAME. Ah well. Night. Chris.
