30 years ago, while Elbert still worked for the County, there was an old man who took care of the Fox Island Dump. Anything that was dumped that he thought was good, the old man took home. Then, when the old man wanted to sell his place on the Island and move to town, he had all this stuff to get rid of. Into the picture comes sweet Elbert. Nice man that he is, Elbert wanted to help the old man. So, he decided to have a sale to get rid of the old mans stuff. What didn't sell, Elbert took to his place to sell later on---So started the Barn Sale.
